An early song of mine, I don't sing it so well, but it's still one of my favorite songs.  Most of my songs, especially the early songs, were written as a teenage boy, so they're usually full of longing and pain..

I recorded this song with a 9 string acoustic guitar - unplugged with no effects.

Long and Lonely Road

by Author #1

Verse 1

I've come so far with you
.

Never thought I would love again

But I gave my heart to you

Just hoping for a friend

Verse 2

And all the things I saw in you
Girl you know you never let me down
But your friends, they won't release you
They don't want me coming around

Chorus

Well life's a long and lonely road

If you've got no one to hold to

Come to me girl

I'll hold you

Life's a long and lonely road
If you've go no one to love you
And I've no one
Without you

Verse 3

Mistakes I've made I won't deny
Mistakes I've made that I cannot defend
A mortal man, I only tried
Why is it feeling like the end (Why is it costing me a friend?)

Verse4

You (they) don't like the way I treat you
You (they) don't think my love is real
There ain't nothing I can do (girl)
To show you just the way I feel

Chorus

Well life's a long and lonely road
If you've got no one to hold to
Come to me girl
I'll hold you

Life's a long and lonely road
If you've go no one to love you
And I've no one
Without you

Well life's a long and lonely road
If you've got no one to cling to
Come to me girl
I'll hold you

Life's a long and lonely road
If you've go no one to love you
And I've no one
Without you

And I've no one without you
And I've no one without you
And I've no one (without you)
